• Day 1/90 – New Engine Mounts

Day 1 of the 90 Days of Awesome is in the bank! What made today awesome? New engine mounts in my car!

    I <3 My Car
    I <3 My Car

My car’s name is Lily. (Yes, I named my silver car “Lily.”) She gets me where I need to go. She’s completely paid off – and Toyota can stop asking to buy her back because I’m going to drive her into the ground. It’s a great car for Rosie and me.

I take my car to the dealership for regular maintenance where I only work with Ed. Ed gets me. He and I have an understanding that he’s not allowed to up-sell me on anything. We talk about what my car needs and what extra maintenance we can put off until the next visit. He probably understands that I’m a bit high strung so he does what he can to get me in and out of the dealership as fast as possible. I hope Camelback Toyota understands how freakin’ awesome he is.

Last winter, Ed told me my car’s engine mounts were wearing out, which is why my car shuddered a bit at stop signs. Today was 5,000 miles later so I bit the bullet and remounted my engine. It was a pricey fix, but given that I plan to drive this car for another 200,000 miles, it was worth it.

I have a very happy car – purrs like a kitten.

I’d say this is good start to my summer.

  • SALK Day 15 – Camelback Toyota

Today’s sponsor is Camelback Toyota.  Have you seen their new facility?  It’s gorgeous!  They make getting your car serviced as relaxing as possible.  Here are the top five reasons why you should get your car serviced at their facility.

    1. Outstanding Service: The service department staff is known for being prompt, knowledgeable, and not pressuring customers into services that they don’t need.  Their website also has a new feature where you can schedule an appointment online.  Last year, I had my first dead battery ever.  It happened late on a Friday afternoon.  I called Camelback Toyota and explained the situation.  I had gotten a jump and was on my way over to their shop.  The service department stayed open past 5pm so they could receive my car and made sure that I had a ride home.  I received a call from them early the next day telling me that there was nothing wrong besides the battery and that my car was ready to be picked up.
    2. Free Food:  Camelback Toyota upgraded their customer lounge in their new facility.  The lounge itself is huge with comfortable chairs.  There’s also a cafe with free coffee and water.  They serve free bagels and fruit in the morning and free sandwiches in the afternoon.
    3. Free iPads:  The customer lounge at Camelback Toyota is equipped with free Wi-Fi.  You can also check out an iPad for free.  You can play a relaxing game of Scrabble while you’re waiting for your service to be completed.
    4. Massage Chairs:  There are actually two customer lounges at Camelback Toyota.  There’s the main lounge downstairs and there is a “quiet lounge” upstairs.  The quiet lounge has televisions and comfortable chairs for people who don’t want to experience the hussle and bussle of a car dealership or who want a quiet environment to get work done.  The quiet lounge also had little booths that have massage chairs and televisions in them.  You can relax, get a massage, and watch the program of your choice.  If you’re still enjoying your massage when your car is ready, there is no expectation that you’ll cut your massage short if you don’t want to.
    5. Fantastic Customer Service:  One of the reasons why I bought a Toyota is because of its reliability.  I have never had a major problem with any of my cars, so I only need it to be serviced a few times a year.    It astounds me that the cashier at the service center always remembers who I am.  She must see hundreds of people every week.  She is the embodiment of Camelback Toyota’s commitment to their customers and providing award winning customer service.

Consider using Camelback Toyota for your future service needs.  You can find Camelback Toyota on the web, Facebook, and Twitter.

  • SALK Day 14 – Camelback Toyota

Many people dread car shopping because they are afraid of high-pressure sales persons and being ripped off.  Camelback Toyota makes buying a car a pleasant and personalized experience.

Camelback Toyota is many people’s preferred location to shop for a car.  People have been known to travel to Phoenix from as far as Tucson and Sierra Vista for Camelback Toyota’s award-winning customer service.  The sales people are known for being knowledgeable and friendly. They do not use high pressure tactics.  Instead they listen to buyers’ needs, respect their budgets, and match them with the right vehicle.

Established in 1988, Camelback Toyota has brand new, 9.6 acre, state of the art facility located at Camelback Road and 16th Street in Phoenix.  You can search their online inventory of over 500 new and previously owned cars, trucks, and SUVs before coming down to their showroom. I bought my car at Camelback Toyota four years ago.  I wanted a car that was dependable, affordable, and that I could comfortably drive with my petite frame.  Camelback Toyota had the right car for me.  My salesperson was friendly and understood my needs.  He helped me find a car that had all the features I needed and did not try to up-sell me with things I did not need or want.  He respected how hard it was for me to make a decision to buy a car and was willing to negotiate a price and payment plan that fit my budget.   I was pleasantly surprised when they gave me a better deal than what I was willing to pay.
